The effect of chemical castration in male dogs, the use and regulations in Norway vs Hungary
Abstract
Summarizing the knowledge I've gathered the last year by comparing the different regulations and
situations in Norway and Hungary, I can conclude that there is no “solution” or “best way”.
The different regulations, way of thinking and use regarding chemical castration, is depending on
many factors, including culture, economy and stray dog problems.
In my practical work in Norway during my studies, I have seen both positive and negative sides of
the regulations. The same in Hungary.
There will never be a common agreement on which regulations are the best. But, I now have a
wider understanding of why they are so different.
I will meet many situations in my future career, where my open mind and experience from the
Hungarian system and the Norwegian one, will make decisions easier.
Every male dog is different both physically and mentally, so I also have to consider that what might
be the best solution for one, is not the best for the other.
